- In order to have a stable, high quality video signal (to keep the
- enginners at video studios happy) you'll need a genlock to dump to tape,
- even if you won't be mixing video+graphics. Check out the SuperGen or
- SuperGenSX (for S-VHS). if you're using PAL you'll need another kind of
- genlock, check the euromags.

- It depends. If you're planning to create hi-end 3D animations with lots of
- textures, reflections, shadows, and can record frame by frame to tape,
- you'll need a 24-bit card. If you need 'not-so-hi-end' anims, the DCTV
- box can give you nice looking, NTSC quality realtime anims and graphics.
- If you need just simple 2D anims and text, 'supers', moving graphs,
- over-the-shoulder genlocked graphic elements, etc., DeluxePaint in hi-res
- 16 or 32 colors can be very professional-looking. A few tips to avoid the
- cheap-crappy look: beware single pixel lines, highly contrasting colors,
- pure/100% saturated colors (specially red!), try to anti-alias to avoid
- jaggy graphics, don't enlarge text (pixels will look BAD), create it big,
- try to avoid animating huge elements if you're running anims in realtime
- (nothing looks more amateurish than a stuttering anim) or try to make them
- in as few colors as you can...
